Here's a little documentation of the work we did on our backyard this spring: We did our own curbing (not recommended), laid the sod, planted a garden and spread LOTS of gravel (thankfully with the help of a tractor)! Ronnie was such a stud and set up all of the forms for the curbing by himself! It was really hot and very back breaking work, but he stuck it through. Our awesome neighbor Kerry Bang lent us the cement mixer and it saved our lives! We would've been mixing cement forever without it! Next, I drove a trailer ALL BY MYSELF over to the turf farm and picked up half of the grass (dang trailer wasn't big enough for the full load), then we hurried and unloaded/laid it and Ronnie raced back to the farm before it closed for the second load! A couple days later we got 16 tons of gravel and spread it all around the yard, then Ronnie got to work on our firepit. We also planted the garden (which we've harvested squash, green onions, watermelon and lettuce) and two trees. It was a lot of work and we're not quite done yet, but we're so grateful to have it! For Easter we got the girls a trampoline and repainted an old swing set that my Grandpa welded for his kids! It's a great back yard and we love it!
