Chloe Loe

Here's our little Miss Bedhead.  She seriously has crazy hair every morning...she must be a thrasher like her Daddy.  This girl is stinkin' smart and just hilarious as anything.  She LOVES to sing.  In fact, I caught her on tape singing in the bathroom at the park.  I'm thinking she liked the acoustics.  The other day we sang with the piano and it took her a little while to get the hang of it, but she totally did.  Hopefully we can get a piano this year :)  Last weekend we went to the Blue Angels air show at the airport, which was awesome, except for the fact that Chloe got the pukies.  She barfed all over herself and the car seat on the way to the show, so we thought she just had motion sickness (she's done that before).  She was so sweet and kept saying"I'm so sorry I barfed...I sure didn't mean to."  She was good all through the show and fell asleep in the stroller.  As we were pushing her back to the car afterward, it was a super bumpy ride on the dirt road, and all of the sudden her little head peaked out and started barfing again.  That was a yucky mess.  It's moments like those that leave me thinking "how did I ever get old enough to have a barfy kid and this stressful mess???"  Anyhow, I kicked into Mommy mode and carried her barf covered self the rest of the way to the car and got her all cleaned up.  She barfed multiple times on the way home and we ended up staying at my mom's house since she already had Avery.  My Mom was awesome and got Chloe her own special green bowl to toss her cookies in and the rest of us had pizza and hung out.  She threw up until about 11 that night, then I got it, then Ronnie.  My sister came and got our girls and my family took care of them while Ronnie and I got better.  Thanks guys!  Now every time we get in the car, she'll put her hand up to her mouth and start panicking, yelling "I'm gonna barf!  I need my green bowl to barf in!!!!!"  The first time I started freaking out (as we were driving on the freeway) and now I just tell her to go ahead and barf.  Hasn't happened yet.  We tried telling her about the boy who cried wolf, but I don't think it sank in.

Chloe is also very sweet and thoughtful.  This week my family's dog Sandy passed away.  We had her for about 13 years and she was such a great dog.  Chloe absolutely loved her and going out back to see "Sandydog".   As we went over to my parents house to say goodbye, I explained to her that Sandy's spirit had gone to Heaven to be with Jesus and that we were going to say goodbye to her body, but that she wasn't there.  We talked about it a while and then she was silent.  A short time later she said "Mommy, lets say a prayer for Sandydog."  I was so proud and amazed that one so little as her could have the sensitivity and thoughtfulness to come up with that on her own.  She did very well saying goodbye and now she always wants to go say bye to Sandydog on the side of the house.

She still absolutely LOVES babies and baby dolls.  A few weeks ago we went to the store with my Mom and I let her hold this giant baby doll to keep her entertained.  As we got to the checkout I started to explain to her that we weren't going to buy it and that we could play with it the next time we came.  She was reluctant, but understood and sweetly asked "can I hold it a little longer Mommy?"  I told her yes and the cashier tried to guilt trip me into buying it for her, (when I was already feeling bad about the whole thing,) so feeling a little brow beaten I told him we had a budget to stick to.  Suddenly a man from behind spoke up, searched through his wallet and said "I'd like to buy that doll for her."  Tears immediately sprang to my eyes as I tried to tell him it was okay, she didn't really need it, but he insisted.  I told him thank you over and over again, all the while failing at holding back my emotions.  It was such a neat experience and made me want to me a more generous person.  Thank you kind stranger, for that wonderful lesson and for buying my sweet girl her dolly.  She still sleeps with it every night.  When we got home, the first thing Ronnie said was "That's a big ol' baby!" so Chloe ran around the rest of the night repeating the same thing.  It really is a ginormous baby.  It's the exact same size as Avery.

The other day we driving to Hurricane and Chloe was talking on her pretend phone while Ronnie and I had our own conversation.  She suddenly held the phone to her chest and said "Be quiet!  I'm talking on the phone!"  We both said sorry and she finished up, then said "Okay, now you can talk!"
She's super cute with Avery and always calls her Avey-cakes.  When Avery gets upset, I'll ask Chloe to talk to her and she'll usually start singing her I am a Child of God.  She loves giving her hugs and kisses and taking baths with her.  She can now count to 10 and sing almost through the ABC's.  Today she started tugging on Ronnie's watch arm and asking what time it was.  He told her and then she said "oh, okay.  Thanks." and walked off.   When you explain something to her, she'll usually say, "oh, I see."  When she wakes up in a good mood she'll say "I awake!  Good morning!!!"  She has a really loud and super fake laugh she does, especially when people are paying attention to her.  She can turn the tv, blue-ray player and speakers on to start her own movie.  She knows what all the buttons are on the blue-ray player.  It's especially nice when I'm feeding Avery.  She loves string cheese and gets her own out of the fridge.  When she gets shy or she's in trouble, she'll look away from you and take really long, slow blinks.  She loves Yo Gabba Gabba and quotes things off of it all the time like "funny faces", or "baby steps" and will sing the songs.  One time her little friends were talking about having a party and she lifted up her shirt and yelled "There's a party in my tummy!!!!"

We love this little crazy head so much!  She has so much sass and can get moody, but she's also the biggest sweetheart around.  She'll randomly give us hugs and say "I love you sooooooo much!" I always forget that she's not even 2 1/2 because she's such a chatterbox!

Our Dirt

Well, it's not much yet, but this dirt belongs to us!  We've signed on the loan and framing is scheduled to start a week from Saturday!!!  Woot woot!  Our schedule is as follows:

Mon-Friday 12-8pm (excluding Wednesday) and Saturdays 8-4pm

We're required to put in 30 hours as a couple every week and 10 of those hours are allowed to be volunteer hours.  So if you're in the area and have some time to swing a hammer, we would REALLY appreciate it!!!  They say it takes around a month and half per house, so if all goes well we will be in in 7 months or so ( though I'm SUPER sad to leave our ward, so I'd be okay if it took a little longer...)  If you're interested in the program, here's a link:  Color Country Community Housing.

Aves is 3 Months Old!

Can't believe our little chubba wubba is 3 months!  Well technically, she's now 3 and half months, but my computer was commandeered for the shop, so I haven't been able to blog :(  Avery is such an awesome girl!  She is all sunshine and smiles!  She rarely gets mad and even when she does, you can generally lay her on her belly and pat her back and she'll fall asleep.  Here's a little bit about our Avey-Cakes:

  • She is a thumb sucker!  I can't believe it!  She's always sucked on her hands, but it wasn't until this month that she found her thumb.  She's very good at self soothing and almost always has her thumb in her mouth.
  • She LOVES her bouncer chair.  She makes that thing bounce like crazy!
  • She does a cute little suck in laugh
  • She can sit up in her bumbo
  • Still LOVES watching TV (I try to limit her....it worries me that she likes it so much)
  • She got her first sunburn on her leg last week...such a loser Mom....She was crying her little eyes out, but as soon as I put some burn cream on it, she was all smiles.  She is seriously such a happy kid.
  • She is a morning girl!  She sleeps in a swaddler, so every morning she'll start to squirm and grunt until I let her out, then she does a big stretch and gives me her sweet smiles.  Then she's all smiles for the next little while until she's ready to eat.
  • Loves the bath. Kicks and splashes and squirms to her hearts content.  Chloe is really loving jumping in the tub with her.
  • She drinks 6-8 oz every few hours.  She's now on the #2 nipple.
  • She weighs 14 lbs
  • Holds onto her bottle and can almost feed herself
Avery is such a delightful little girl.  She is seriously so easy going and smiley.  We've been joking that she's like Ronnie (easy going, cheerful, morning person) and Chloe is like me (night owl, late riser, moody, and energetic/crazy).  Love both my girls and their personalities!

Avery's Blessing Day

We blessed Avery on February 19th.  It was a lovely and virtually stress free day, as I'm getting better at this thing called Motherhood and had lots of help from our wonderful family.  Sundays in general have gotten much better because we've started laying out everyone's clothes, finding both shoes, tights and having diaper bags packed in advance.  Avery wore the same dress that Chloe wore for her blessing, but we couldn't get the top button done up because A) She's a little chub and B) We blessed Chloe when she was a few weeks younger...but really I chalk it up to Ave's being our little chubba wubba :)  She is such an easy going girl and was relaxed all of sacrament meeting and completely awake and happy during the blessing.  She was surrounded by most of her Dad's brothers, all three Grandpa's, my brother and a close friend of ours.  Her Daddy gave her a wonderful blessing and I felt the Spirit fill the chapel as soon as he began the blessing.  Babies are soo special and already sooo close to Heaven...I love hearing baby blessings, especially your own child's.  He blessed her to keep her bright, happy personality and to find good friends, among other things.  We stayed for the block, then went to our clubhouse for a lunch of various soups, rolls and cookies.  We enjoyed hanging with the family (though we missed Grandma and Grandpa LeBaron), had an easy clean up, then headed home for a nap.  Like I said, it was a lovely day.  Love our sweet little Aves :)

Cherished Moments

It's late.  Or should I say early?  Chloe woke up with a fever around 12:30am and I took to nursing her; the wet cloth, holding hands, tylenol-the works.  She was so happy despite being sick and was talking up a storm.  I wanted to write down a few gems before I forgot.

Chloe:  Mommy, don't leave me, okay?
Me:  I won't leave you Chloe.
Chloe:  You're such a sweetie :)

Me:  I'm so sad you have a fever Chloe
Chloe:  I'm sorry...I'm sorry I have a fever Mommy

Chloe after I took the cool rag off her head:  Mommy, I want my fever back (referring to the cloth)

Earlier today, Chloe was ornery and throwing a fit.  Later, when we were putting her jammies on she said "Mommy, I'm sorry I got mad at you"

She is such a little sweetie and I love her so much :)  Now it's off to bed and hopefully, sleep.
