Summer Lovin'

We have been having an AWESOME summer and have been partying it up with a few of our favorite neighbors.  Almost every Saturday night you can find us at the Judd's house, bbqing and watching a movie with the Fulmers and the Burrows.  We all have kids around the same age and have a blast hanging out!  Here are a few pictures from those hangouts, plus a few Cinco De Mayo pictures from our little fiesta.  Love our friends and neighbors!

Our House....On the Corner of Our Street...

I'm finally getting around to posting pictures of the progress on our house!  Sorry they're in backwards order!  We are now almost to four way, which means basically done with framing and ready for finish work!  Ah!  We've already chosen our interior and exterior colors for everything (tile, carpet, stucco, etc..) and will have to submit our final plan for our landscape soon!  It's going so fast!  Since we took the pictures at the top we've framed the upstairs exterior walls (the interior will remained unfinished) and built the gable/shed roof.  Chloe LOVES going out to our house and is obsessed with idea that we need to get a front door on!  Every time we get home from working on the house she has a list of questions that she rattles off, like "Did you build the front door?" or "Do we have stairs now?".  When we took both the girls to the house (pictures above) we showed her where her room would be and she got SUPER excited.  We have the cutest little video of her talking all about the "new house".  She can even tell people it's in Ivins.

It's been a really great experience so far, but we are starting to get burned out with the framing phase.  SO ready to move on to finish work!  We go our for 8 hours on Saturday and then 8 hours for Ronnie and 6 for me on Tuesdays (soon to be Thursdays because Ronnie just got called to be an assistant lead for the Deacons in our ward, who meet on Tuesdays).  Then I do a babysitting co-op and watch our soon to be little neighbor boys while their Mom goes out to work on the houses.  It's going to be an adjustment driving "SO" far out of town to get to our house and we'll miss our current neighbors, but we're excited for the move!  Thanks to everyone that has watched kids or come out to help!!!!

Magic Scarf

Oh my funny Chloe.  I love her silly self so much.  She's been getting a lot of owies lately and they have been the cause of much drama at our house.  One Sunday it was just her and me awake and we got a little silly...until she fell down and her head.  Then the hysterical crying in sued so I had to think of something quick to help her stop thinking about her owie...so I came up with Mommy's Magic Scarf (we also have another version called Mommy's Magic Sock)!  I told her if she would wrap the scarf around her owie that the scarf's magic would make it go away!  At first she was just mad, but she eventually came around and believed in the magic!  Then every little owie HAD to have the scarf.  She wouldn't smile for a picture though, until I told her I had a banana on my head.  That's the picture with the super cute smile.  Works every time.  I laughed so hard when I saw her stubborn crying picture.  Love being silly with this girl!

Real Salt Lake!

At the end of April we went up to Salt Lake for my Grandma Millie's 80th birthday, so we decided since we would be driving the gas hog Tahoe and we weren't going to have any chances for a vacation while building our house, we'd make a trip of it!  On the way up we went to the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point (pics to come), we went to a Real Salt Lake game, visited with friends, went to City Creek for some shopping and lets not forget the whole reason we came, partied with Grandma!  I haven't been able to find the other pictures, so we'll start with the soccer game.  I'm not usually a huge spectator sports kinda gal, but this game was SUPER fun!  First of all, Ronnie's cousins and uncle sang the Canadian AND American national anthem (apparently they usually choose a different group for each anthem) and they were incredible!  Gotta love those LeBaron vocal chords!  The atmosphere itself was just electric the whole game and the crowd was really involved with songs and cheers.  There was even a volunteer pep band!  Chloe absolutely LOVED the game (Avery was a champ too...she was happy the whole time)!  Ronnie taught her the rules and helped her follow the ball....she was totally hooked!  She kept yelling at the players "Get the ball!  Kick the ball!" or "He got it!!!" or "Go Real!!!".  It was so stinkin' cute and Ronnie couldn't be more proud, being a soccer player back in the day himself.  We got to hang with my sister, Ronnie's cousins and I got to catch up with some old friends!  After the game we went out for yogurt with my friends, which is a lot harder (but still fun) when you have kids to wrangle (especially when Avery was teething...)!  So there's part one of our trip!  More to come!

2 Dozen Years Old

Well, 24 has come and gone!  It was a great birthday, but I'm sad to say that I didn't feel as much birthday magic this year as I usually do.  It's not that it was any less special or that Ronnie didn't do a great job (which by the way he did...just check out my new Bosch!);  I guess I'm just starting to grow up into a boring adult.  Which is super scary.  I'm going to have to work on that and let my inner kid out a little more!  I love that Ronnie reminded me what I've been like on birthdays up until this year...giddy with excitement, shrieks of joy when presents are unwrapped and big bear hugs of disbelief at the gifts I had been given.  I had to do a few re-dos this year after presents were open...but nonetheless, it was a fantastic birthday and Ronnie splurged on me again, just as he does every year!  He is a one of a kind hubby and never fails to make all of my birthday wishes com true!  To celebrate we went to the movies, rode on the zip line (which was awesome...even though I almost didn't have the guts to jump off!), was showered in gifts, and got some Chinese take out.  It was splendid!  I'm lovin' the Bosch and have made a number of delectable things with it, many of them containing my all time favorite poppy seeds :)
